Welcome

GistListen is a professional recording and mixing facility situated in the northern suburbs of Cape Town.

GistListen is the brainchild of Jaco Pieterse, a Cape Town based recording engineer, who also owns and operates a successful IT Company called Gist. GistListen is the culmination of Jaco’s lifelong passion to afford South African artists and bands the opportunity to sound the best they can back home without having to travel abroad to find a specific sound which is on par with the rest of the world.

GistListen offers recording artists a unique experience. The facility is housed in one of Cape Town’s oldest suburbs, surrounded by beautiful old trees and with its high ceilings in the live room and control room, specially designed acoustic material, the studio offers a unique character and sound, not easily found in South Africa. The studio is also stocked with some great gear and is suitable for both smaller and larger projects.
